What Families Are Saying
Most Recent Reviews
My family had a very disappointing experience with Angel Valley Hospice LLC when my father was rapidly declining. This hospice was recommended to us, and unfortunately the care we received fell far below what we expected during such a critical and emotional time. The bedside manner from the nurses was extremely poor. The nurse who came to care for my father did not appear knowledgeable or properly trained. She did not seem to know how to properly assess bowel sounds or listen to his lungs, which was deeply concerning given that he was actively dying. Despite obvious signs that his condition was worsening, she continued to tell us that he was “doing just fine” and that nothing was wrong. What upset our family even more was what happened after my father passed. The person who came to pronounce him did not acknowledge the family standing at his bedside at all. There were no condolences or recognition of the moment. I was so taken aback that I felt compelled to say something to her and asked, “You’re not even going to give your condolences or say you’re sorry for your loss?” Her response was, “This is my third death tonight,” before stepping out into the hallway. Losing a loved one is one of the most difficult moments a family can go through, and compassion and professionalism matter greatly in hospice care. I have worked in the healthcare industry for 24 years and have seen many hospice organizations provide incredible, compassionate care. Unfortunately, this was not one of them. Based on our experience, I would strongly encourage families to carefully consider other hospice options when seeking care for a loved one.
Angel Valley Hospice provided exceptional care and support during the recent illness and passing of a dear friend. From the beginning of their engagement with him until after his passing, their staff were a dedicated, consistent source of excellent treatment, pain management, empathy, comfort, and encouragement for the patient; and constant two-way communication with the loved ones. They took a personal interest in my friend; teaming with his family, friends, and caregivers to advise and consult regarding treatment options, and providing us with constant updates on his condition and prognosis. One of the nurses, Shannon Wheeler, was exceptional in her ability and dedication to treat my friend – not just his health but his emotional well-being. She found ways to engage with him that made him smile, laugh, and sometimes sing; even in the most challenging circumstances. Shannon often visited and/or interfaced during her time off – above and beyond the call of duty. Shannon exemplifies the high standard of professional and personal care her organization provides. All the others on the Angel Valley staff were also terrific in their roles. I would highly recommend Angel Valley Hospice to anyone seeking comforting, compassionate, and competent care for their loved ones.
We are so thankful for Angel Valley’s caregiver team. They have worked as a team along side our family to provide outstanding care for our loved one. They are compassionate, professional and provide you with exceptional communication. They provided the same nursing staff and care team who visit routinely on schedule. They are more like family.
