I wouldn't recommend Harbor Hospice of Plano to anyone. This was definitely a depressing experience. It caused so much extra stress in our lives using their service. I thought there would be compassion and support for us during the last few weeks of my mom's life, however they were a huge disappointment. Lack of communication (no replies several times), and zero concern for my mom's level of comfort. The goal is to keep the patient comfortable so they don't have to suffer, however that didn't happen. We had to suggest medications that could help my mom, multiple times, before they would finally get ordered. Her initial pain medicine took 5 days to even get ordered, and this is just 1 example. We finally asked about a fentanyl patch to give her consistent pain relief, after an entire month. We found out that this could have been offered from the beginning. Even after asking about it, and being told that it would be a great idea, they failed to even order it. My mom died 3 days later. Our hospice aide Rose was very good, and she was the ONLY reason we didn't change companies. Krystal took over care on my mom's last day, and she was very helpful. Rose, Daymon and Krystal were great, and the only reason I would give 2 stars. Overall, a horrible experience dealing with this company while my family member was dying.
I am very pleased with the work and dedication that Harbour Hospice has provided. Nurses Kelsey, Krystal, Mike, Linda, Social worker Yonnie, Chaplin Daymond, and Community educator coordinator Jessica together made the team of angels for me and my husband. They showed an ample amount of love and provided top-tier care for my husband. Without them, I wouldn’t know what to do and would be so destroyed throughout this whole process. These are people that take their job seriously because it’s not about a paycheck but a passion. They took very good care of my husband And I recommend everybody who is going through palliative or hospice to go to Harbor Hospice. God bless them.
The Harbor Hospice in Plano has a wonderful team of nurses and caregivers. They all go above and beyond to help your family member remain comfortable and able to do as much as they can. They always answered the phone when someone called and would come out if they needed to. Towards the end they would come out everyday. I read reviews and saw some negative ones, but this it not the same hospice that are in those reviews.
