The Lady who answer the phone for me this morning 10/27/25 was very rude and unprofessional. She needs to be TRAINED AND EDUCATED to do this job as customer services. SHE WAS NOT ABLE EVEN TO ANSWER MY QUESTION. She just said go to the website. If you are not happy with your job do something different.

Avoid Amedisys Hospice at All Costs I can’t say this strongly enough — do NOT trust Amedisys Hospice with the care of your loved ones. Their lack of compassion, professionalism, and follow-through is absolutely disgraceful. They rarely showed up when they were supposed to, and when they did, the care was minimal at best. My father was never seen by a doctor, despite clear signs that his condition was not being properly managed. They relied on outdated diagnoses and made no effort to reassess or actually help. Instead, they brushed it off with “there’s nothing we can do but comfort care” and told us he had six months or less to live — then left us to figure everything out on our own. Every time I tried to advocate for him, I hit another roadblock. Calls went unanswered, concerns were ignored, and we were left completely unsupported during one of the most painful times of our lives. This place is a nightmare. Save yourself the heartbreak, the stress, and the anger — and go somewhere else.

I would just like to share my family’s experience with this service. If you don’t like long reviews here is a summary: instead of alleviating stress all they have done is added to it. My grandmother was admitted to this hospice care service in July. 🚩 First red flag should have been the nurse they sent to evaluate and admit her. Amanda arrived extremely flustered and kept repeating that she often forgets things. As it turns out, Amanda did not submit the paperwork. 🚩🚩 After resubmitting the paperwork and one or two visits. My mother, who is my grandmother’s primary caregiver, had a very unfortunate interaction with one of the nurses. This person was extremely rude and condescending. 🚩🚩🚩 My mother later received a call from the Director of Operations, Emily, asking about the visit. Emily apologized and informed my mother that there were changes happening in their organization and the two nurses that had visited before were no longer employed. A new nurse, Tracey, was assigned to my grandmother’s care. She was great the first week and then she started missing her scheduled visits. While she was defaulting on these visits, my grandmother had a very sharp decline and needed a pain medication that could be administered without her having to swallow. We were told she would be getting a “patch” to help with the pain. As I write this review the patch has not arrived and neither has TRACEY. So now my grandmother has to wait AGAIN to get another type of medication. In conclusion please save yourself and your loved ones the headache and look for literally any other hospice care service. Note to Emily: I plan to submit a complaint about Amedisys Hospice to the Texas Department of Aging and Disabilities. This is unacceptable. UPDATE: My grandmother’s last night was the most stressful part of this whole experience. Two days before her passing we were instructed to increase her pain medication dosage and because of that we were running out fast! We needed these meds to keep her comfortable. We text her nurse Tracey the next morning to put in an order. Apparently there was a “glitch” that caused a delay. We were not informed. During her visit Tracey told us we would receive the medication in two hours she left at almost 6 pm. 8 pm rolls around, no meds. I call Emily, she “GUARANTEES” it will arrive by 10pm. At almost 10 pm, no meds. We only had two hours of medication left. A nurse was sent to keep her comfortable until the medication arrives. She told us to just administer an extra dose of an anxiety medication. Meds finally arrived at around 1am. She passed at 6:42 am. A second note to Emily: Don’t make guarantees about things you don’t have direct control over.
