The T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center is one of the most extraordinary inpatient hospice facilities in the country — a purpose-built, nine-acre campus in north Dallas featuring a five-acre lake, walking trails, meditation gardens, and a labyrinth. Every one of the 36 private rooms has a direct lake view and its own balcony large enough to move the patient's bed outside on beautiful days. The facility is now operated by the Visiting Nurse Association of Texas (VNA) — the first nonprofit hospice provider in the state of Texas, established in 1934 — following a partnership with Forefront Living that took effect in early 2026. VNA brings an extraordinary legacy of mission-driven care, pediatric hospice, Child Life Specialists, music therapy, massage therapy, and bereavement support across 16 North Texas counties. The center is temporarily closed for staffing transition and is expected to reopen under VNA leadership in Summer 2026. All care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance.

My father entered in home hospice care with VNA after a terminal cancer diagnosis and the intense battle that goes along with it. I will say that our assigned nurse Emily Bass was amazing she took care of my father and mother, while it’s not easy going down this dreaded road she made it a bit less bumpy and I’m so appreciative of the exceptional care my father received before he left us this past February. The entire care team was compassionate and worked to the upmost of their abilities including the nurses aid, Mrs T that came everyday weekday and the final nurse that came to call his death. Thank you so much for what you all do
My father-in-law entered hospice last spring after a number of complications, and VNA was compassionate, patient, and most importantly, available for us whenever we had questions, concerns, or needs. We had a little bit of a rocky start (he shifted to hospice on a weekend) and needed a feeding pump and some other specialized equipment, and the initial devices we received were defective--after a few calls, we received working equipment. It was stressful, but it was still more hands-on, rapid care than we'd been getting with a home health company. Once we were established, things worked almost like clockwork, despite the sudden changes that hospice inherently brings. Our nurse was amazing in this tricky, sad time. Our CNA (my FIL's favorite), LVN, and social worker were stellar. Our LVN was especially kind and exactly the energy we needed on my FIL's final day. I can only hope to receive this level of care when I reach this stage in life.
Do not used them, they do not train the caregiver, they have no experience . they do not let the caregiver know anything about the clients, they never return your calls, they left my father this weekend with no help, they did call and say nothing.they are mad because I got in theirs butt About the care and good communication This is unacceptable period Dont used this terrible company, you will be very disappointed
