Intake is professional caring and compassionate. Service after that goes down quickly. Social worker is caring, empathetic and professional. Nursing staff is through a third party and very uncaring and got upset when called back to evaluate rapid decline. Once upon a time Vitas was the best in the business. That is no longer the case. No comfort kit was provided. No one came when he transitioned to impending death. And it took 2 hours for someone to come and pronounce him deceased. Hospice should support the patient and the family. There should be end of life comfort measures available. Vitas did not do any of this. I cannot recommend them based on the lack of care my family member received.
