This company has new owners and the quality of care has definitely gone down since I signed my mother up with them a year ago. The nurses and staff are great it’s obviously not them they are just doing their jobs and have no control over what is provided. They have gone to cheaper everything. Took 4 days to get a wheel chair for my mom who has end stage dementia. She is bedridden and having to call and put pressure on them for a pressure point mattress which they are required to provide for a someone once they are bed ridden as bed sores can happen within hours. Supplement drinks were ordered last week and still are not here. They keep saying they are here for me well when your loved one is dying you should not have to threaten to get what you need for them as you are already dealing with enough. I had used another company when my stepfather and husband were on hospice and never went thru this they always provided me with more than I needed I changed because my moms doctor recommended this one and I thought all were pretty much the same now I wish I had used the other company. My mother, who recently passed away, was under the care of Devotion Hospice. I highly recommend this Hospice as everyone I was in contact with was caring and compassionate. I've never used a Hospice before, and Devotion staff were outstanding. My mother was under their care for a few days, but they made sure she was comfortable, pain-free, and had everything she needed. Can’t write enough good things about Devotion Hospice. Two months ago today, my beautiful mother passed away from lung cancer at the age of 85. Had it not been for Devotion Hospice, I would have been denied the right to be at the bedside of my dying mother (that would be the human being who gave me life) by the pathologically lying “doctors” at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital, objectively the worst hospital in the greater Houston area. Devotion Hospice literally rescued not only my mother but also me!! They moved my mother to safety away from Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital so that I was allowed to be reunited with her just days before she died. The Devotion Hospice representatives are EVERYTHING that the Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital employees are not: intelligent, honest, and genuinely empathetic. They were impressively knowledgeable, patiently answered all of our questions, and spent as much time with us as necessary while we navigated what is understandably one of the most difficult times in life. You can tell that the Devotion Hospice nurses are truly compassionate. Without Devotion Hospice, my mother’s passing would have been an insurmountable tragedy due to Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital’s criminal negligence. Thank you, Devotion Hospice, for actually caring about people – not just profit.
