My husband passed away a few months ago. He was under Mi Casa's hospice care. Even though I set the hospice up for my husband and signed all the paperwork. Was at my home everytime they came. They yet to know my name. Every piece of mail they send is addressed to my step daughter who has never lived at that address, and is using her maiden surname. It isn't a big deal but it is starting to feel like a slap in my widow's face. Like I am not validated for being his spouse. Or maybe MI Casa office workers are just lousy at their job.

They try to gaslight clients. They refuse to do drug screens. They do not train their providers to respect patient privacy.

When I asked them to screen the providers for drugs before sending them into my home, they told me that I had to have proof the person was a druggie before they would screen them. They also violated my privacy many times. The provider would talk about me to her husband and family members, my landlord, my previous landlord. The lack of professionalism is really sickening.

Families often have questions beyond hospice care — estate planning, elder law, funeral planning, and more. Placements are limited and selective — we review applications and only accept organizations that meet our standards for this section.
