Hendrick Hospice Care Center
Opened in December 2016, the Hendrick Hospice Care Center is a stunning, state-of-the-art 40,800 square-foot freestanding facility in Abilene — the only one of its kind in the Texas Midwest, built specifically and solely for inpatient hospice care. Sixteen spacious private rooms, each large enough for family members to comfortably stay with their loved one, are surrounded by extensive outdoor landscaping and quiet gardens. The facility also houses a bereavement center, volunteer training space, and community areas for families and visitors. Hendrick Hospice Care is the oldest and most experienced hospice in the region, serving Abilene and West Texas since 1982, with a care team representing a combined 270 years of hospice experience. Care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance.

The warmth, the respect, the cleanliness… everything is far and away above any other facility I have experienced. The staff is always available to you, providing everything and using every tool at their disposal to insure my mother and my family received all we needed. They gave of themselves and everything was top of the line. This team is committed to excellence. The water feature and outside area were just what we needed to reconnect with God through His beautiful creation. We spent much time in the gazebo talking to God and to each other. A big “Thank you” to the team and the facility for taking care of Mom as she crossed the River into the glory of her Savior. You all are second to none. God bless you.
