This was one of the most unprofessional employment experiences I have ever had. While working for this company during nursing school, I fell behind on some charting/notes. I fully acknowledge and take responsibility for that. However, withholding an employee’s entire paycheck is not an appropriate or legal response to incomplete documentation. When I went to pick up my check, I was informed it was being withheld until I completed charting—despite the fact that the pay period totaled 39 hours worked. Documentation issues should be addressed through corrective action, not by refusing to release earned wages. Additionally, holiday pay was removed without prior notice. I was told this was because I was “part-time,” yet this was never stated in my offer letter, and for months prior—while not receiving full-time hours—I still received holiday pay. When questioned, the owner stated: “If I would’ve known you were getting it, you wouldn’t have gotten it, so consider it a gift.” This comment was unprofessional, inappropriate, and indicative of inconsistent pay practices. What makes this situation even more concerning is that I am now being required to go months back and complete documentation for shifts I was already paid for before my withheld paycheck will be released. This feels punitive and excessive rather than corrective. There was no clear policy, no written expectations provided, and no professional communication throughout this process. Instead, I experienced inconsistent pay practices, dismissive leadership, and what appears to be wage retaliation. I strongly advise anyone considering employment here to get all pay policies, holiday eligibility, and documentation requirements in writing and to be aware that pay practices may change without notice.
I would give more stars if possible. I called for Accredited Hospices of America at 6:30 in the morning and they arrived within the hour. My husband, Jerry, was accepted into hospice care and shortly I was visited by a nurse, social worker, an aide that gave him a sponge bath and a chaplain. I can't say enough about how efficient and kind they all were. Yessenia, the chaplain was so caring and said beautiful prayers over us. She even called a week later to see how I was doing! I highly recommend Accredited Hospices of America for anyone needing hospice services. I was totally impressed with every person that came to my home.
We have had an exceptional experience with Accredited Hospices of America, and I want to especially highlight their incredible team of nurses. Every nurse we’ve worked with has shown genuine compassion, professionalism, and a level of care that brings comfort. Their bedside manner is consistently gentle, patient, and respectful — the kind of care you hope and pray for when trusting someone with your loved one. They not only attend to medical needs but also bring emotional support, kindness, and reassurance to both the patient and the family. Our current nurse, Tahlonie, has been especially wonderful. Her compassion, clear communication, attentiveness, and calming presence have made a meaningful difference. She treats our resident with dignity and care, and she’s been a blessing to work with. All of the previous nurses we’ve had have also been great — consistently dependable, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in the well-being of their patients. I highly recommend Accredited Hospices of America to any family seeking supportive, compassionate, and trustworthy hospice care. 🙏💛
