If I could leave a worse review, I would! You would think that a place providing end of life care would have some sort of organization, communication, sense of urgency but NO! Brenda has been the absolute worst administrator and has failed to communicate anything, forcing our family into an even worse situation. Do not waste your time with these people when TIME is not something you have. We've lost what little we had and the opportunity to fulfill last wishes. Do yourself and your loved ones a favor, save yourself the pain and heartache, and avoid Harbor Hospice.
I could not urge you enough to not take your loved ones here. My father was supposed to start being taken care of by the hospice team on Friday, nobody contacted us until Monday. His comfort kit of medicine to make his transition more peaceful was supposed to come Monday, didn’t come until Wednesday (the day he passed). I was told an ambulance was on the way to take him to their inpatient facility at noon and didn’t arrive until 8pm. When he did pass, the nurse told me as if she was telling me the weather, with a smile on her face. Every chance there was a mathematical possibility of them taking worse care of my father they took it and RAN. While they may not have killed my father, they made damn sure his last days were as unpleasant as they could possibly be. Take your loved ones ANYWHERE ELSE if you want them to have comfort in the final days.
I had Brenden scheduled to come in today, a visit I had been eagerly anticipating for weeks after hearing about his remarkable gift with individuals who have dementia. It was incredibly refreshing to see my residents come alive during his visit. Brenden demonstrated an exceptional ability to communicate with each resident, tailored to the severity of their dementia. We will definitely put Brenden at the top of our list when our patients need palliative and hospice care. Thank you, Brenden, for your invaluable contribution. We appreciate you!
