Gentiva - Georgetown serves Williamson County specifically with staff who live locally and understand the area's rapidly growing senior population and unique healthcare landscape, providing faster response times to northern suburbs than Austin-based competitors. The Georgetown office has built strong referral relationships with the concentration of retirement communities around Georgetown, Liberty Hill, and Leander, maintaining dedicated liaisons for those facilities who understand their specific needs. Their local presence enables them to understand Williamson County's particular growth dynamics and demographic shifts, adapting their services to meet the evolving needs of this expanding community. The office operates within Gentiva's national structure while maintaining strong community identity, balancing corporate resources with authentic local relationships. We love the entire staff at Gentiva so much!! Every single person who works there is extremely thoughtful, caring, knowledgeable and so supportive to the patient and the family members!! We absolutely love and appreciate our nurse who we get to see twice a week! Lori does an excellent job looking after my mom. She feels like family!! We highly recommend this hospice company. You will not be disappointed if you choose Gentiva
Gentiva cared for my grandmother and did an amazing job! The nurse was very attentive and took the time to educate and answer all of our questions. The aide was gentle and caring. They made things a little bit better in a sad situation.
The lack of care from the company as a whole has been horrible. They feel as though you're on their services so your life revolves around them. They have an extremely high turnover rate. They switch people and don't notify you. People have lives and you're coming to someone's HOME. Some of the nurses have been very very rude. They don't care if you don't like that they just pop up at your door. When you voice that concern, you're made to feel like a bad person. This nurse I've never met, didn't know was coming, shows up smelling like smoke, hair a mess, shades on tries to just walk in without speaking. I stopped her and said can I help you? She was like I'm..I'm here to see your mom. I asked did you call? She said no, I was in the neighborhood, so I didn't allow her in. The only thing I asked for from this company was communication. It blows my mind this being a hospice company but lacks the simple basics of care and respect. Once mom moved to the facility, I told them to let me know if they're not coming so I could go give her a bath. At least twice that I know, they didn't let me know and she went 7 days without a bath. They want whatever they want and do whatever they want and if you go against it, they will say you're not taking care of your loved one, you're a horrible person and you won't work with them or allow them in your home. Life is already stressful enough. At one point they were sending 2 caregivers to my home at one time for "safety". I had private caregivers, including myself that did her bath alone. They made such a huge deal about sending 2 to only end up sending 1. If you're a stay at home person, with no kids, no life or anything else that pulls you away from your home, this company is perfect, because in order for them to help your loved one, you will be expected to be a slave, shackled to your home, always available for them when they want and how they want, sending who they want without telling you. I guess it makes sense, hospice care is about the company, not the family. I'm telling you with all my heart and honesty, DO NOT USE this company. Read all the reviews, not just Google. They're everywhere, saying the same and or worse. I'm going to tell you about the heart of this company. The administrator and I have gone back and forth several times. Constantly arguing. I spent so many hours begging and pleading for respect. She refuses to even try to understand the importance of communicating when someone is coming by and her staff being respectful when coming in my home. People that don't have peace in their lives don't understand the importance of maintaining it once it's achieved. She wanted me to be grateful for the bare minimum. She would get so frustrated and upset in our conversations because I wouldn't bend. Here's where it gets personal, everyone that comes to my home to see my mom talks about how spoiled and loved she, including some of her staff, this company/administrator got so in her feelings that she made up false accusations to APS. Saying my mom had no one to help her with her adls and she's left alone. Knowing they were coming and I hired private caregivers. My mom has always had more than enough for the lavish lifestyle I provided for her. There were days her staff didn't show up at all, no call no show. I'm sitting at home waiting. Countless emails and texts with them, but somehow I was the problem. Anyway, APS came out and was so confused and left immediately and also apologized. I explained to them how this company was and is. My point is, the heart and soul of the company is rotten and sucks the life out of their staff and clients. I hope to see them shut down for what they have done not just to me but others. I will never recommend anyone to this company and will definitely make sure to share my story. 6/10 CNA shows up unannounced @ 8a. No one's home. She tells them we refused help. Last week this nurse said no one answered the doorbell, so she decided to just walk in my house. Not call me, but walk in my house unannounced. My dog was how I knew she was in my house. 🙄
