Goodness. I cannot thank Enhabit Hospice enough. Every single person who works for that company becomes family. I know when you hear hospice you just think the worst. ..but this was a beautiful experience were my dad was able to stay in his home with great care. The nurses treated him just like family. He started hospice early and really enjoyed the nurses coming and checking in on him. You can call them morning or night . They are always there for you. 100 percent recommend them....♥️
My wife was under their care, but went to the emergency room to have some fluid drained to reduce abdominal swelling. This was about her quality of life, not some last ditch effort to pursue a miracle cure. Upon release, she was denied readmission to the hospice, basically being told to go die elsewhere. They sent their trucks out for her bed and oxygen without coordinating with her new hospice leaving her with nothing. But the shareholders did okay.
I really can’t recommend Encompass enough, they are true professionals that will guide you through a difficult time, and make sure your family member is given a comfortable and peaceful transition. Our father was passing due to stage 4 liver cancer and we originally went with a different hospice provider ( a big name provider) and it was a mess from step 1 to the third day when we finally decided to replace them with encompass. Having the experience of dealing with both, only Encompass really understood the primary objective of offering a peaceful and comfortable experience for the patient, which is essential but they also realize that high level of communication is critical to ensure the family members are also in the most relaxed and comfortable position that they can be in while dealing with a sad and stressful time. Our rep Denise Fernandez was a savior, She called to connect us with a patient advocate since we were seeking additional assistance just to find out we had chosen a different company and were having a very difficult time since oxygen was delivered with no guidance over 6 hours and our father was Asking for it. She proceeded to guide us through face time and then proceeded to wish us well. After another misstep with Christus we decided that was it and went with Encompass. I really can’t recommend them enough, True professionals that will guide you through a difficult time, and make sure your family member is given a comfortable and peaceful transition.
