We had the most wonderful experience with Christus VNA and Pallative Care in San Antonio, TX. It would have been such more of a stressful, confusing and heart wrenching time without these amazing people that we had the blessing of taking care of our loved one and us as well. I have to mention a couple names that particularly saved us on every level. Amber Stetson for her incredible knowledge and bed side manner. She’s such a wonderful and solid person but she’s also quite the unexpected therapist because the process is so sad that we were just lost without her knowing when to step in to help us understand what he was going through, what it felt like to him, things we could do or should pay attention too as well as her willingness to call/text her at all ours day or night. She’s a friend of ours now and we miss seeing her every day or so. We also had Jaime Arturo Rodriguez as a nurse on and off who just felt like a true angel walking into your house and life. Our loved one was so touched by his warmth and sensitivity that at times he told us after he left that he felt so much relief after a good talk, he felt emotional regarding how safe he made him feel. The entire staff is like this. The aides were also so good at all the physical bathing, changing bedding and anything you could imagine. Thank you Maracella and Noah for helping him to be comfortable and not at all awkward regarding some parts of their jobs as well as teaching us how we could best do those activities when we were on our own. The head nurse Jennifer Frilling we had the pleasure of meeting one particularly rough night on a weekend (late) was a godsend. We realized these great humans were a product of her hiring and and moral standards. Lastly, Bo and Nancy, our respite coordinators that kept him company were so kind and caring. We felt these would likely be two people that would be our closest of friends outside of their respite care. We will truly miss all of you and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this otherwise very sad situation go as smooth and painlessly as possible. Sincerely grateful, Leslye Hernandez and Darbi Jacob
CEO, (I sent this email and CEO didn’t bother to respond) You operate the worst and most unacceptable hospice service I have ever encountered. I am a retired member of the U.S. military, and my wife—who is battling ovarian cancer—was placed on home hospice care beginning December 24. The level of care provided by your organization was completely inadequate and unacceptable. Due to these failures, I made the decision to replace your VNA services on December 31. You may contact me directly for detailed information regarding the serious issues we experienced, or you may speak with your sales representative, Ariana Gonzales, who is already familiar with this case. I demand that every individual involved in my wife’s care be removed from working on patient cases. Based on our experience, your company has no business providing hospice services. Had I remained with your organization, I firmly believe my wife’s life expectancy would have been shortened. Email alone is insufficient to convey the depth of my anger and disappointment. I expect direct accountability.
I would to extend my gratitude for the people whom took care of my cousin Modesto. From the beginning process of Mrs. Lilly Fernandez that help get things started, she carefully explained everything on what services were provided and she also helped getting information from his doctors so services could get started. Especially huge Thank You to the wonderful nurse John that attended to my cousin needs, he was so patient and showed kindness to him and was so very helpful. Please know that your work has touch our hearts deeply. Thank You and God Bless. .
