Christus Hospice - Central Texas

Do not recommend utilizing this hospice company. Initially lots of promises were made until paperwork was signed. Lack of follow up, communication, and compassion shown at all levels of care including leadership and nursing staff. Minimal time spent with patient including zero education on medications for family members, no guidance on supportive care, staff did not know what medications family member receiving, and little to no follow up when questions were asked. When using their answering system, sometime return calls would take hours or take multiple calls to even hear back. When you would finally reach a nurse, many times it would feel as if they were annoyed to be speaking with you. Follow up would be promised and never actually followed through. Tried several times for resolution including speaking with executive director but again the lack of compassion and follow through was evident. Ultimately choice made to switch care to different hospice provider. Paperwork had not been officially signed through new provider but once Christus Hospice was told that we would be switching they completely stopped following up on calls and in an emergency situation when a nurse should of made a visit to the house they did not come. They told us that they were not able to "bill" the visit and only would provide advise over the phone. Christus Hospice made an already vulnerable, difficult moment EVEN MORE difficult and caused a lot of extra stress on not only the family members but the patient himself suffered from their lack of compassion and willingness to do their job and help make the patient comfortable in their final moments of life.

My grandmother is receiving care and they are amazing. Our social worker is top notch. Nurses have all been great. But the one person who sticks out and goes above and beyond is our CNA. I can’t say enough amazing things about her. She is such a light and I am so glad we have her. I’d say request Marie is you are getting care as well but we want to keep her all to ourselves 😝. All around amazing care. Editing my review now that my grandmother has been discharged to Jesus. I stand by everything I have said previously. Lori, our nurse for most care and the Wonderful Woman who came after my grandmother passed was beyond caring. She has been amazing since our first day as she was also the one who did our intake paperwork. Cyndi, the wound care nurse was so incredibly smart and we loved seeing her every time. She took time to also get to know my kids as well as they went through this journey with me and she has no idea how much that meant to me. Marie our CNA is an absolute angel. I miss her now after the fact because she is just such a light in a situation that feels so dark. She was new to the company shortly after we signed up so I was nervous but she is now one of my favorite people and my kids loved her. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs the extra support to their journey to the other side. 100/5 stars for sure.

A loved one is here and the care and the staff are wonderful. I pray that if I ever need a facility such as this that I get one with this level of care and concern
