CareFor Hospice serves Central Texas families with a focus on providing comprehensive care that truly "cares for" patients and families in every sense - medically, emotionally, practically, and spiritually - throughout the end-of-life journey. The organization's name reflects their commitment to caring for the whole person and whole family, not just managing medical symptoms, recognizing that quality end-of-life care requires attention to all aspects of the human experience. Their team understands that "caring for" means providing support that addresses medical needs, emotional concerns, practical challenges, spiritual questions, and relational dynamics, creating truly comprehensive care. CareFor Hospice emphasizes building relationships with patients and families that enable them to provide personalized care that truly meets individual needs and preferences, rather than one-size-fits-all approaches. Absolutely untenable charging 600.for a nurse to assess my Father in order for a caregiver to manage meds (meaning handing to him- he takes ONE prescription). Not my first time using a service and others never charged for this. Suffice it to say after caregiver sent was seen sleeping will not be using their services further. Poor communication regarding having shifts covered- except for one employee who was very hands on, empathetic, and communicative.
This agency has undergone a major change, for the worse. If you have a loved one suffering from Alzheimer's dementia, stay away. They do not have qualified, trained caregivers that understand the different behaviors of an Alzheimer's patient. Management stands by their incompetent caregivers, many who sleep on overnight shifts, when the patients are fully awake. Two different caregivers cornered my loved one inside a small bedroom, barricading the door, for 12 hours straight and refused to let him leave the room. Fortunately I had a camera in the room and have their behavior documented. Please be careful with this agency.
Horrible experience. CareFor is only in the business for money. I talked with Debbie and staff many times about my loved one. They kept giving hope, while taking thousands of dollars from my loved one's estate. In the end, CareFor dropped my loved one's care and they are in worse shape than before. This organization preys on the elderly/sick and are not qualified or experienced to give care.
