Harbor House in Houston is a large, 32-bed freestanding inpatient hospice facility on Kirby Drive in south Houston, operated by Harbor Hospice — a healthcare system with dedicated inpatient hospice centers across Texas and Louisiana. When pain or symptoms become too difficult to manage at home, Harbor House provides 24-hour expert nursing care in a warm, homelike setting where families are welcome day and night. Each of the 32 private rooms comes with a private bathroom, TV, DVD player, and comfortable guest accommodations so the people who matter most can stay close — including six negative-pressure isolation rooms for patients with complex medical needs. Family rooms, a laundry room, a chapel, and a counseling room are all available on-site. The care team — physicians, registered nurses, certified nursing aides, a clinical pharmacist, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers — works around the clock focused entirely on comfort and dignity. All care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance.
