My husband is on Baylor Scott White and Hospice and program and we have felt beyond blessed . Our CNA, Patrice, has been like family taking excellent care of my husband. She helps him shower and dress. Patrice is efficient and never wastes time. She is kind and instructive and has become like family. She always lets us know if she is running behind or sets up with me if she needs a different day. We have truly come to love and trust her. So I am DEEPLY upset and devastated that you have dismissed her from working for you. I can’t imagine what you are thinking. She came to us highly recommended, professional and did an above average job. This is not the excellence we have relied on from BSW. And if letting her do is due to the hospitals budget, you need to rethink your priorities. There are plenty of over paid employees that could get by without a raise! You have now taken away HER entire paycheck. But I guess out of sight out of mind.

My mother was in pain on 2 different times. Both times the Scott and White Hospice nurse told me to call EMS to pick her up and take her to the hospital. I did as she told me and the night hospice nurse met us in the er. She advises me to take her off hospice so the hospital could treat my mother and then she could get back on hospice when she is discharged from the hospital. So I did. A week later the same thing happened and I was told to do the same thing. When it was time for my mother to be discharged the hospital case worker came to the hospital room and told me the S & W hospice is dropping us. I didn't understand why because I did what the nurse told me to do, I asked for the S & W hospice case worker to come and talk to me and explain why she was dropping us. She refused to come talk with me. The doctor didn't even understand why they were dropping us and then wouldn't come talk to me. So, with all that said, I would think twice about using Scott and White Hospice.

I've had the pleasure of witnessing some of the most compassionate nurses, social workers and aides interact with their patients and I was truly amazed. The overwhelming beauty of their hospice care brought so much comfort to these families. I admired how they took time to understand where the patients were in their journey and what they needed to feel comforted and loved. While there are many hospice agency to choose from, I highly recommend the exceptional BSW Temple Hospice team when considering how to provide comfort and support for your loved ones.
