My mom was brought from Conroe to near San Antonio and unfortunately was not brought with any supplies for her ostemy bag. This facility had me putting trash bags on her leaking ostemy bag for almost 3 days before I could get it changed out. Once the third nurse finally got to visit with her (each nurse before her claimed they were not her nurse so they did the bare minimum ) she was rushing and did not give us the time, attention, or training we should have received as the family being new to not only hospice care but also caring for someone with a catheter and ostemy bag. From the beginning I asked for my mom to get a bath and no one would give it to her. I had to wait almost a week for her to get cleaned up but she never got a proper bed bath. She didn’t get the level of care she deserved and her nurse was rude, heartless, and unprofessional. The audacity of her to make it seem as though I wasn’t caring properly for my mom was beyond comprehension. When I called the office to file a complain I was met with more unprofessionalism and apparently either the nurse or the lady who answered the phone made up lies that my mom was being neglected and home alone most of the day. The lady at their office even went as far as to ask me if I had a camera in my mom’s room! The nerve of this place.. I love my mom and I hired private care for her, and everything we did from medication to cleaning her ostemy bag and catheter bag was logged. She has movies and music being played on the tv for her, the kids spending time with her, and her favorite meals being made / bought. The fact that someone would fix their mouth to spread the lie that she was alone was very hurtful and disrespectful to us as the family and caused a lot of stress. After a week and 1 day I had enough of this place and their nonsense. I was able to find a new and much better facility the next day after my discussion with the facility’s executive personnel who just seemed to keep defending her employees..and I am so thankful for the level of care the new place is providing. Now my mom gets real bed baths, we got thorough training, and her nurses care so much they check in on her on their own. I would never recommend this AccentCare place. They lack compassion, proper training, and empathy. Please research and check out places before your loved ones actually get into hospice, it will save you unnecessary stress.
Taryn was my Mom's Hospice Nurse for about two months. OMG, she was Amazing. She did a great job managing my mother's pain levels and keeping her comfortable. She also guided the staff at the Assisted Living facility to make sure her comfort was maintained 24 / 7. I'm sure she was very busy, but never seemed to be in a hurry. She always explained everything accurately to me, and carefully listened to my mom. Taryn was also excellent in helping me and my family go through this very difficult "transition". Absolutely the Best.
Although our time with Seasons Hospice was short, our experience was good for the most part. Ashley, the Medical Director was very compassionate and Katelynn & Ana the Music Therapist's were delightful. The only issue I had was with one of the nurse's who was very cold hearted.
